Sledding with Friends

Monday we had friends over in the afternoon for a sledding playdate. G came with her daughter and so did L’s son. We went to the hill in our subdivision, and the kids seemed to have a blast.

I need to read the manual for my camera, however, because I think there is a technique to shooting pictures in the snow. The ones below came out looking pretty dull looking for some reason.

About Debbie

I am a stay at home mom of 2 energetic children. I homeschool them as well. I have a great husband who, after 7 years of working away from, finally has a job where he is home every night. We are trying to learn how to live together again along with adjusting to the lower pay that came along with the job change.

I agree – my snow comes out grey too…..I keep fiddling with the white balance but its still grey 😦

Do you have a function on the camera…background light behind the subject…or something like that? Sorry I can’t describe it right now. I know we have one but have never tried it on a snow shot. My snow shots came out like yours…grey. I might try that setting and see what it does. Did your camera come with some software? There might be something you can do there.

I have a sunny day mode, that is supposed to be used on bright days – I’ll try that. I’ll also try adjusting the exposure by one stop. We’ll see.
