Our Night Out

Adrian’s mom sent us a New Year’s gift…some money! Enough for a night on the town. This, for us, is dinner and a movie. With the kids. (We’ve really got to get back to having date nights.) We went to see “Night at the Museum” in IMAX. We really enjoyed it, and it provided some good laughs.

We did a little shopping in the mall afterward. Adrian bought a new coat – cashmere. Verrry nice. I got some clothes for the kids. Typical. Nah, I’m kiddin. I prefer to shop by myself anyway, and not be subjected to Adrian’s sighing and looking at his watch.

We went for supper at Red Lobster. Yummm. I love how the kids enjoy seafood. They’re not picky. That is thanks to Adrian, I think, because he’s exposed them to all sorts of weird food. Not that seafood is weird. Anyhoo. We had calamari and mussels for appetisers. Adrian and the kids had lobster for dinner, and I had the Ultimate Feast, which is basically a sampling of crab, lobster, and shrimp. We were all stuffed by the time we left.

Thank-you Mary, for the gift – it was a fun night.

About Debbie

I am a stay at home mom of 2 energetic children. I homeschool them as well. I have a great husband who, after 7 years of working away from, finally has a job where he is home every night. We are trying to learn how to live together again along with adjusting to the lower pay that came along with the job change.

It does sound fun. I need to get married again. Eating fish sticks and watching hockey on tv is getting tiring, ha,ha..

Glad you guys got out. However, it sounds like you do a lot of visiting anyway but when someone pays for you all to go out it makes it even more fun. Glad you enjoyed yourselves.

We do some visiting at other people’s homes; it’s not quite the same thing. Like I said, Adrian and I just need to get out sometime. Do you and Dawn do much of that?

  5. Sirdar says:

Do much of what? Go out or go visiting? Not much of either lately. Dawn is out at least 3 times a week during the day so she gets tired and doesn’t want to go out in the evening when I want to go out. Next week she is out Monday, Tuesday, Thursday night. Wednesday is piano and Friday is Big Drum plus there is a tour at the CTV studios next Friday. A lot of weeks end up like that. Then when there is nothing…she wants to do nothing. In some way I can understand…but I still want to go out. Maybe Sunday we should get together for coffee at our place?

  6. Debbie says:

That sounds nice – I’ll talk to Adrian.

What I meant was, do you and Dawn get out alone together very often. Adrian and I do not. We used to, but we just haven’t made the time lately.

  7. Sirdar says:

We get our more now because the kids are old enough to stay by themselves. We go on little dates….shopping for instance. Sometimes we have just gone for coffee. But we don’t get out enough.
