Coffee and a New…Acquaintance ;)

I’m not dead. I actually had coffee with someone that I met over the internet AND lived to tell about it. This someone was Joy from A Spot of T. Who knew she wasn’t an ax murderer? Well, I can vouch that she isn’t.  🙂

Yesterday she, Dawn (Colours of Dawn), and I met for coffee. Dawn is my neighbour for those who don’t know. We had a great time exchanging stories. What I thought would be a two hour coffee turned into four!

It is odd meeting someone that I feel I already kind of know. For instance, Joy mentioned that she’d been painting a room and I knew right away that she meant her work-out room because she had written about it on her blog. She knew all about my camping trip because I had written about it on mine.

We reveal so much on our blogs yet so little. There is still plenty we don’t know about each other.  I tend to wear my heart on my sleeve, though.  In fact, I’m too much that way sometimes.  🙂

Anyway, it was lovely to visit and laugh. I’m looking forward to the next time.

 Thank-you, Ladies.

About Debbie

I am a stay at home mom of 2 energetic children. I homeschool them as well. I have a great husband who, after 7 years of working away from, finally has a job where he is home every night. We are trying to learn how to live together again along with adjusting to the lower pay that came along with the job change.

It must be fun to meet with someone you know through blogging. My sister has met loads of people through blogging in SF. I was meant to meet someone but it didn’t work out.

What a wonderful opportunity you all have had and a good “wee blether” for 4 hours 😉

I so agree about ‘blogging’ it does open up an awareness, although I am rather ‘reserved’ in myself.

A delightful post and do hope you will all meet up again soon 🙂

You wear your heart on your sleeve, I’m a bitch and hate kids, Dawn is a goddess. And to think….there’s so much more to learn yet 🙂 I personally thought it was an excellent meeting.

Just ignore me….wordpress kept telling me I was making a duplicate comment…but I didn’t see my comment…So being tricky I took off my ….. to try and post again…. I’m such a dork….

That is really cool you have gotten to meet people from blogging in person. There are a few I would love to meet if I had the chance!

Beccy – It was fun. 🙂 How great for your sister.

Peter – I think some people find it easier to be unreserved in the blogging world.

BTW, Peter – WordPress seems to be putting my comments as spam. Maybe check your Akismet thingy to see if my comments are hanging out there if you get a chance.

Heather – I love that we finally got to meet, and it certainly was interesting.

    Joy – LOLOL!!! I did too! 😀

    Heather – You’re so cute. 😉

Terri – It’s amazingly coincidental that we live so close and are ABLE to meet.

    you were very brave!!

I see MY4KIDS lives in the same area as one of my daughters and I’ve thought about letting her know when I’m over there…. and now she is moving to AK.

    bummers.

  10. poeticscot says:

Yes for some reason I found them in the ‘spam’ section.

    Never happened before?

  11. Steffi says:

I wish I can be one of your neighbours too… ;O)!I´m sure you all had a nice day!

  12. Jodi says:

It is interesting how we feel like we are friends with people who frequent our blogs… there are a lot of you that I would like to meet in person!

Although, I may lose a friend by telling you this… you’ve been tagged!

  13. Debbie says:

Pamela – You’ve still got a bit of time before she moves! 🙂 I know what you mean, though. This coffee had been talked about for awhile before we actually did it. If I were single, I don’t know that I could ever computer date.

Peter – It just started happening. It happens on my own blog, too. That’s how I noticed it, in fact. I’ll have to take THIS comment out of spam before it appears. I don’t know how to fix it either. Please, keep checking yours for my comments because they will surely keep appearing. Maybe you have some idea of what I can do??

Steffi – It would lovely to meet you one day! You never know. It could happen. 🙂

Jodi – A person does get to know people quite well sometimes through blog or email. I think we tell things about ourselves that we might not in person.

  14. Dawn says:

It was a treat to visit with you two. Contrary to what Joy says, I don’t want people to think I am MUCH of a goddess, I am sure they would be disappointed. Joy herself isn’t a bitch, and Debbie is wonderful. Looking forward to next time we get together also.
