Boo!

I have been so behind in reading blogs but in light of tomorrow being the beginning of NaBloPoMo (did I get that right?) I thought that I’d just sit and sit AND sit here until I was absolutely caught up with everyone.  It has taken me two hours, but I believe I’m caught up.  Whew.

So, today is Halloween.  Whoo hoo hoo….uhhh…hooo.  I don’t mind Halloween, but I don’t go gaa gaa over it or anything.  I do not look forward to the next few days of sugar highs from the kids…or me because I always end up stealing some of their stash.

Every year we go to my parent’s house to do our trick or treating.  They live in a town close-by and their house is in the first large crescent as you drive in.  So, they usually get about a hundred people come to their house.  Parents like to drive their kids to the beginning of the crescent and wait while their kids make the rounds.  It’s fun to go around there because it’s so busy.  The kids get to see a lot of people in costume, and then they love to hand out candy afterwards.  It’s usually a pretty nice night, actually, complete with supper!

Mom has also gotten quite a few decorations over the past few years.  We NEVER decorated when I was a kid, but what-ev-errr!  😉  On the weekend the kids and I went and carved the pumpkins (or pungkins as J calls them).  R is getting quite proficient at the task while J still needs quite a bit of help.

And now, since I’ve been on the computer for two hours, and I actually have to teach my kids something today, I’m cutting this short.

I hope ya’ll have a happy and safe Halloween.  And for those of you who don’t celebrate it, I hope you have a lovely night.  🙂

About Debbie

I am a stay at home mom of 2 energetic children. I homeschool them as well. I have a great husband who, after 7 years of working away from, finally has a job where he is home every night. We are trying to learn how to live together again along with adjusting to the lower pay that came along with the job change.

Hope you enjoy your Halloween. We didn’t celebrate it when i was a kid but I do with the kids now. Around here they do a thing at the school called trick or trunk basically kids go to parents car trunks to get candy since most people live to far away.

Sounds like a fun time with your family. Grandparents do lots with grandkids they didn’t have time to do with their kids. That is one of the things I look forward to in the future.
