Climbing the Walls

On Saturday we went wall climbing with the Junior Forest Wardens. All of the kids seemed to have fun. Even the ones who were scared about the whole thing. I think each child pushed themselves a little further and did more than they thought they could.

This was J’s cup of tea. She had felt so proud of herself when she successfully climbed the vertical playground at our camp-out in October. She’d been psyched that she did it when the boys couldn’t! The boys eventually did, but she still remembers being the first. Tee hee. Perhaps I shouldn’t encourage this kind of arrogance but I love seeing her get some good girl power.

R needed more bribing encouragement but he went further then he had before as well.

She was pretty tired when she reached the top so, touching this bar was a big accomplishment.

About Debbie

I am a stay at home mom of 2 energetic children. I homeschool them as well. I have a great husband who, after 7 years of working away from, finally has a job where he is home every night. We are trying to learn how to live together again along with adjusting to the lower pay that came along with the job change.

Great photos. It is okay to have some girl power every once in a while.

They both look super, great pics!! Oh boy, it’d take a lot more rope to get me up there. Good for them and extra special cheers for making it all the way to the top. Not an easy feat so way to go J! We here in the T home always root for a little extra girl power.

What a brilliant exercise in confidence building! There was a rotating one the Army brought to the Royal Welsh Show one year which my daughter loved. Go girl power!

That looks like fun for the kids. Me I’m to chicken to try! I think they have a place they do that here in the summer and I’ll have to check it out.
