I’m 33 years old, married to a sarcastically funny Englishman, and a stay-at-home mom of two wonderful children. My son (R) is eight and my daughter (J) is seven. We live on an acreage which we love. I spend most of my time with my family, and I love talking on the phone with friends. I also enjoy reading a good book.
A couple of years ago I decided to take on the task of homeschooling. It’s been challenging but also rewarding. For the past two years we were involved with a part time program. This is our first year having a go at full time homescooling.
Writing has become a new outlet for me. I used to love to write when I was younger, but never made time for it as a mom. Now, with this blog, I find that I’m writing all of the time, on the computer and off.
The title of my blog, A Step at a Time, though cliché does fit how I lead my life. I have a lot to learn about being the kind of person I want to be. Self-assured. Decisive. Vivacious. Funny. Deep. Interesting. Basically the kind of person who stands in their own space and has a plate that is full so that there isn’t any leaching off of others. You know those kinds of people, right? People who try to steal your energy in some way? I’m gonna be honest and say that I can play the pity party sometimes, but since I’ve been working on this I can usually stop myself. Here’s where the “step at a time” thing comes in. And there are many other aspects of my life that I take a step at a time because I just have to give myself a break. After all, we’re all here to learn.
