It’s the Middle of the Night…

It’s 3 in the morning, and I’m awake! Well, half awake. Ds just woke me up – he’s got a sore throat. Poor poor little guy! I thought that he’s been looking a little pale lately. He had a sleep over at his friend, L’s, place on Friday night. So, this morning I thought that he might just be out of sorts due to the lack of sleep. THEN I thought that it was because this new dental appliance that he just got put in his mouth was bothering him. In fact, we were at mom’s for lunch, and he wasn’t eating. I asked him about it, and he said that the whole bottom of his mouth was hurting (that’s where this appliance is). I suddenly thought it best to get it looked at by the dentist because I didn’t want him suffering with it over Christmas. I whipped into town, and we were at the dentist by 2 pm. The dentist said the appliance itself looks good, and that it’s similar to the feeling of braces. It’s just going to ache for awhile, and to give him Advil. The rest of the day and night he seemed a bit better, but still not quite himself…and now I know why. He’s sick! Man that sucks to be sick at Christmas. All of the goodies he’ll likely miss out on – although, I’ll bet he’ll force some down! I’ll give him plenty of freezies for his throat, and it’ll still feel like he’s getting a treat.

Okay, it 3:39 am now. I’ve spent a bit of time surfing some other blogs, and I’m feeling tired now. I never have a problem going to sleep when I first go to bed. I do find it difficult to get BACK to sleep if I’m woken up in the night. Even if I’m tired, like I am now. I just can’t seem to turn my brain off. I think I can sleep now, though. The words are starting to look blurry. At least, I can sleep IN tomorrow.

Nighty night!
